Wire and Terminal Block failure may also be caused by a short circuit between the wiring harness and the body or inside the switch. Before checking, you should first see if the terminals in the body are fixed securely, and then you can test according to the following steps.
Terminal Block
First remove the control computer ECU and sensor terminals on both sides, and then measure the resistance between the corresponding terminals. If the resistance value is not greater than 1 ohm, it means that the wire is normal, so that the next step to check. When measuring the resistance of the wire, it is best to gently shake the wire in both vertical and horizontal directions to improve the accuracy of the measurement, and note that for most of the wire terminals, multimeter meter stick should be inserted from the back end of the connector, but for the waterproof type terminals equipped with a waterproof sleeve meter stick can not be inserted from the back end, because a little carelessness when inserted will make the terminal deformation.
First remove the control computer ECU and sensors on both sides of the wire terminals, and then measure the resistance value between the connector on both sides of the terminal block and the body. Measurement, one end of the meter stick latch to the body, the other end to be measured on both sides of the wire connector, if the resistance value is greater than 1 Ohm means that the wire and the body without short-circuit fault.
First, the terminals should be removed one by one, check the Brass Terminal Block for rust contact and dirt, rust and dirt should be cleaned. Then check whether the terminal piece is loose or damaged, the terminal is fixed firmly, the terminal should be no loose phenomenon when gently pulling. Conversely, if the plug terminal in which a seat hole is pulled out easier than other seat holes, the seat hole may cause poor contact failure in use.
